How many of you heard of Bing yet?  This is something new Microsoft is working that is suppoed to be better than Google. They claim that they are using a new technology to find the information you need, interesting enough, when you search for fragaholics, we land on top. ;-)

Ok, so lets see if we have better luck now.  After all the problems we had with the database, the server decided to crash last night.

Oh yeah, so last night I was formatting the server and installing CentOS which was a load of fun.

I think everything is working the way it should, may run into a permission issue here or there but no big problems.

I still need to reinstall the Ventrilo Server, I'll post info once that is done.

So, if some of you saw this morning, we were having problems with SMF.

Around 9 or 10 am this morning the database for SMF was corrupted.

It seems that the AntiVirus software on the server thought the MySQL file that holds all the database information for SMF was infected.

What happened is that it tried to quarantine the file but since the file was in use from the site it corrupted it instead.  Either way, there is no way to recover the information.

Being that there were only four of us using the site I stopped backups because it was a waist of space.  So we are starting over unfortunately.  I have also decided that since SMF hasn’t released any updates for a while and that their new version will never be released I wanted to move away from SMF, no one was fixing any of the security problems.  So welcome now to glFusion!

This will give the fragaholics site a little more functionality which will hopefully bring more people to us and some of the other back.
