Google / Razer Gaming Console, umm Grazer?

Does the term “micro-console” mean anything to you? Well it looks like this could be the new up and coming trend. Bye bye Ouya, hello Razer, guess this technically would be called Grazer haha, by the way Google and Razer I will trademark that .  Finally something other than a PlayStation, Xbox or Wii that I would get more use out of.  If this is half as good as the high-end gaming machines Razer does now, it will blow away the so-called top consoles out there.  As most of us know Razer by no doubt pushes out high-end gaming PCs, laptops and tablets, now we can add the term micro-console to that list. We can assume this will be along the lines of the Amazon Fire TV under Google’s substantial aegis. From what is known at this moment this device will run probably run Android TV, allowing streaming capabilities. All we can hope is that it will be cheaper than the typical $400 console.  Min-Liang has at least hinted that it will be.

“This is a console of the future,” Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO said in a statement. “Built on Google’s incredible Android TV platform, the Razer micro-console incorporates not only hardcore and casual gaming, but music, movies and other entertainment and social applications, all on an affordable system.”  Finally something to look forward to when it comes to replacing my Apple TV. Sure I can get a PS4 or XBox, but honestly my Apple TV was around $100, which makes it hard to justify $400 smackers on a console that requires an additional monthly subscription to even use it.  Honestly Microsoft, must I have a freaking Gold account to listen to music? WTF is up with that? Anyways, we’ll post more about this as information is available. Wonder if Steam has any ideas on how to get into the micro-console market? (Hint hint Valve)
